Thanks for Code from

http://openprocessing.org/visuals/?visualID=27910

for the sin wave code.

Development wright Up

As you can see, the code is a mess.

I can't have control of the curve and it makes no logical sense.

Thats why I changed my concept.

The development had some alright ideas but can't really be add.

Is it app useful ? no!

but I did learn how to make the line bounce and move which will become handy later in the project.
also with the help of (Steve) I figured how to make a drag function which also merged into the final project.

sound did get in to the development but nothing changes the frequency therefore making a mono tone which is boring.

Final

Final:

In this app you can control the sound only on the left side of the screen.
make play around then if you what some thing to draw from the sound release the mouse then the right side will an pattern according to the algorithm (path its set on). This is a translation of sound and visuals.

Design choices.

Splitting the screen, is so that the user thinks there are two different areas that are related
also makes it an area that is like a mouse pad, its for control.

the colors

are random but still but are in a fixed yellow range.
with added green and orange which look simular to fizzy candy.

Yellow and black has quite a good contrast. like wellington rugby team.
also seen in a nature like the bee.

sound

I design it so that people will use the left hand side to interact with the app.

by

the sound that the right made was jittering and aggressive. also the user has no manipulation of the sound.

where as on the left it was smooth, the user can control it. It responded to the users movement

the shape

an ellips is boring by adding a trail and a randomiser made this ellips less of a bore. some even found it interesting.

Left and Right brain

whats the difference ?

why is it important to my project?

in simple terms the left brain is the logic and the right is the artistic side.

In my project I split the screen so I symbolizes the differences between hemispheres.

on the left nothing but black, but the sound logically is responsive with the mouse.
In contrast the right has color, shapes but no response to the user control backapart from
leaving the tight side.

Write up

Introduction:
In this application, I try to keep things a mystery.  There are two main complaints, where the user will interact by making smoke to find moving objects. These two things have both random and controlled elements. For example the moving objects have two different types of routs, the smoke is more controlled so that user can somewhat have an easier time of finding the object.

Aim:
To calculate or to  find how many moving object there are.

Instructions:
Move the mouse (at first) random
Then move it in a systematic way to find all of them. (Users will have to be creative in this system)

Tips:
There are some fixed locations of these moving objects (to make it a little easier for the user.)
There are also some curve balls.

development

Just playing with algorithms and I found out that this one was the most interesting
I made the algorithm then modified the stroke which is also in an algorithm so I can just make the computer to repeat the code.

I added a colour algorithm to my pattern to see if anything interesting will happen.
I decided to changed the background to increase the contrast of the colours.
I thought the colours looked too much like a rainbow and because there were a lot of colours it make the pattern too saturated and make not as interesting so I isolated just the triangles which created a new and interesting pattern that I could work with.

I notices that the triangles are different sizes because of the different stroke size, so I decide to make more obverse. By doing this I think it creates order within the pattern not just random triangles.
The algorithm creates a frame which increase in size therefor it draws the eye to the starting point, on the top left hand corner. by having a gradient this emphasis the motion within the pattern.
I think the some of triangles are too faded and can't be seen so I add a stroke on every triangle so the faded triangle can be seen, but it loses the focus of the starting point.

I found away to continue the hierarchy on the starting point. increasing the contrast of the triangles by making the background completely black.  I think the algorithm loses its character by not having its frame but the overall result is better than any other of my patterns because the are less contradiction within the composition.
